Donate In-Kind Gifts
N Street Village Accepts Fully Functioning, Gently Used, and New In-Kind Donations. We prefer donations are dropped off in reusable grocery bags. In-Kind List Updated August 17, 2010
In-Kind Donations are accepted by appointment Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Call or email the Volunteer and In-Kind Services Associate, Anne Steeves, at 202-939-2075 or asteeves@nstreetvillage.org to schedule a drop off time or for additional donation assistance.
N Street Village will not be able to accept donations August 19 through August 23, 2010 due to staff scheduling. Please contact us after August 24, 2010 to make an appointment for a donation.
N Street Village is not capable of doing pick ups, due to a lack of reliable transportion. The delivery of your items is greatly appreciated.

How to Organize In-Kind Donation Drives for N Street Village.

We can no longer accept donations of all casual clothing sizes 0-16, travel and regular sized hair shampoo and conditioner, dish sets, coffee mugs, shoes with heels, all furniture, and cosmetics.
We are currently now accepting travel sized and regular sized toothpaste, travel sized shower gel and lotion, and regular sized toothbrushes. Please save all other toiletries until further notice is given. Thank You!
Top 5 In-Kind Donation Needs
- Snacks for Bethany Women’s Center, healthy snacks and individually wrapped preferred (granola bars, crackers, fruit cups, etc)

N Street Village Accepts Food Donations. Please check expiration dates on all donations. We cannot accept expired food.
We are a community for women in recovery; therefore, we cannot accept any items with alcohol in them or alcohol references.
Urgent Need: Snacks for Bethany Day Center and already popped popcorn (for monthly community movie nights).
Preferred food items include:fresh produce, maple syrup, crackers, diabetes friendly drinks, brown rice, dry beans, canned salmon and chicken, low sodium canned vegetables, canned fruit in own juice, whole grain cereal, oatmeal, black pepper, tea, coffee, complete pancake mix, grits, fruit juice, garlic powder, any cooking spices, tuna, olive oil, snack food, vegetable oil, pasta sauce, and popcorn.

Individual Client and Resident Needs
A Permanent Supportive Housing Apartment needs a shower chair and a nonslip mat for a bathtub.
A Client needs sulfur 8 hair products.
Apartment 312 would like a mini freezer.

Most Current N Street Village Operational Needs
N Street Village needs a Minivan.
In-Kind Office needs plastic storage containers, DVD players with cords, 13 gallon drawstring garbage bags, and cleaning supplies (multipurpose cleaner, antibacterial wipes, floor cleaner, scrubbing bubbles, swiffer sweeper refills, toilet bowl cleaner, oven cleaner, dish soap, antibacterial spray, and dust cloths).
Houseware Closet needs non-electric can openers .

Bethany Women's Center and Case Management Most Current Needs
Urgent Need: 2 leather office chairs.
Bethany Women’s Center needs rolling suitcases, Elmers glue, baby powder, umbrellas, 100-300 piece puzzles, washcloths (new), bath towels (new), DVDs (nonviolent), Depends, African American women’s hair products (hair oil, permanents, relaxers, combs, brushes), bras (50-58, all cup sizes), bra extenders, cotton underwear (size 10 and larger), construction paper, glue sticks, scissors, markers, chalk, and crayons.
Bethany Women's Center Clothing Closet needs tennis shoes and sandals (no heels) sizes 8-12, large sized belts, and size 8 and larger jeans.
Case Management needs Metro smart trip cards with money on them and Gift Cards (Whole Foods, Target, Giant, CVS, Safeway).

Education and Employment Center's Most Current Needs
The Education and Employment Center needs 1G flash drives, unregistered SmarTrip Cards with money on them, $35 gift certificates to Payless ShoeSource for work shoes, short sleeved blouses in solid colors (size 10-28), and suits or pants in black, navy, gray, or dark brown (new or slightly used, modern, size 14 and larger).

Residential Programs and Luther Place Night Shelter's Most Current Needs
Special Request: Residential Programs Residents would like sets of 10-15 tickets or discount coupons to concert, event or amusement parks and a GPS for trips around the DC area.
Residential Programs needs scrubbing bubbles, floor cleaner, window cleaner, clear storage containers with lids, tv converter boxes, umbrellas, and air fresheners.
Permanent Supportive Housing needs toilet paper, dish soap, 2 kitchen garbage cans, and garbage bags.
Recovery Housing needs 2 wall clocks, under bed storage containers, dish detergent/soap, sit under hair dryer, 2 extra large frying pans, and AA/NA literature.
Transitional Housing needs chair/sofa covers, brillo pads, a small kitchen table with two chairs (preferably plastic/metal/glass), brooms and dust pans, mops, and dust mops/swiffer sweepers with refills.
Luther Place Night Shelter needs pajamas (size XL+ only), black and brown hair dye, under bed storage containers, 1 hardback dictionary, ironing board covers, and headphones.

Wellness Center's Most Current Needs
URGENT needs: Monistat 1-day, 2 soft non-cloth arm chairs
The Wellness Center needs 2 wide 3 drawer clear storage containers, ace bandages, fold up gym mats for self defense class, alka seltzer, Metamucil or OTC fiber supplements, benedryl, claritan, burn cream, sunburn spray/gel, iron supplements, Prilosec OTC (omeprazole), bengay, antifungal foot spray/cream, vaseline, Mucinex in tablet form (guaifenesin), lancets for blood glucose checking, test trips for Bayer Contour meter, glucogon diabetic tabs, visine eye drops, and bunion pads.
Constant medical needs include: 1% cortisone cream, antifungal cream, depends L and XL, disposable/instant cold packs, hand sanitizer, head lice shampoo/treatment, boxes of kleenex, non latex gloves, first aid cream, sugar free cough drops, baby asprin, ibuprofen, eye wash, sm. bottles of hydrogen peroxide, Dr. Scholl's gel inserts, Dr. Scholl's antifungal powder, and topical cream for itching.
Walking Club is in need of pedometers.
Knitting and Crocheting Circle is in need of yarn (preferably new) for beginners, pattern books for crochet, crochet hooks, and knitting needles.
Smoking Cessation Group needs sugar free gum and sugar free candies.
Art Therapy needs A.C. Moore or Michaels Gift Cards for the volunteers that provide classes.
